New Vicar for St. John's!

We are delighted to announce the name of our new vicar: Tim Partridge. Tim and his family will join us in the Autumn and will be joined by his wife Abby, and three children Mia (9), Zach (7) and Toby (4). Tim is currently the team vicar at St. Andrew's Plymouth.
Please do pray for them as they navigate their move to Wimborne.

The Church Society, Patron of the Benefice and Bishop Karen, the Acting Bishop of Salisbury and Bishop Rob, Bishop of Ebbsfleet are delighted to announce that the Revd Tim Partridge has been appointed as Vicar of Wimborne St John, Benefice of New Borough and Leigh.

Tim was ordained in 2018 and is currently Team Vicar at the Minster Church of St Andrew Plymouth and St Paul, Stonehouse, where he also served his curacy. Tim brings the skills and enthusiasm of serving in a large evangelical church. He brings much experience of running a substantial staff team, and has a clear strategic vision for the next stage of ministry at St John's. The plan is for Tim and his family to move here late summer / early autumn and to be licensed shortly after. This is great news for St John's as it moves into its next stage of mission and ministry. Bishop Karen and Bishop Rob wish to thank everyone involved in the appointment process, the ministry team and all who are supporting the parish during the vacancy.'

Along with my wife Abby, I was attracted to St John's because of its evangelical outlook and because you want to know and share the new life and full life that anyone can have by faith in Jesus Christ. We have so appreciated the warm welcome given to us by those people from the church family we've already been able to meet, and look forward to meeting you all in due course. We're excited about moving to Wimborne later in the year with our children Mia, Zach and Toby, and seeing what the Lord will have us do in the coming months and years."

We are so delighted that you have found our website. We are a Church family in Wimborne for anyone living, working or studying around this area. Whoever you are, whatever your age, whether you’re an experienced Christian or not, we would love you to join us.

From an intrigued onlooker to the committed follower we are keen that everyone should grow in relationship with God through knowing Jesus. To help us do that our emphasis is on hearing God speak to us by his Holy Spirit through his word, the Bible. Each of us knows that we only grow in a relationship with someone and get to know them when we spend time listening to them and responding and reacting to what they say. So the focus of St John’s is on listening to God’s word, talking to him in prayer and taking up all that he says.

The Church family here at St John’s longs to help anyone who wants to investigate the life of Jesus. On this site you will find people, meetings, talks and events shaped to help you take another step forward in finding out more about God and his love for us in Jesus, and to help you get linked into the church family life.

We hope to have the opportunity to meet you personally in the very near future and that you will quickly feel at home at St John’s.
