Tots and Toys - Mondays 10.00-11.30am term time

Monday mornings we offer a welcoming space for local families with children from 0 up to 4 years (pre-school) age in our church centre. Parents. grandparents, carers etc are all welcome to bring their little ones to enjoy a morning of activities. Our doors open at 10.00am (Pre-School door entrance on Legg Lane) and once registered there are three rooms of toys and equipment for children to roam and around and play.

We have a larger play space with slides and ride on toys plus a huge train set, that leads into our more constructive play area with play kitchens, play work station, cars plus baby play zone area. Finally, there is our creative room which is more chilled with playdough, puzzles, books and a craft table with different craft activity each week. We also have a buggy park area and toilets with changing facilities.

Halfway through the morning we provide toast for children and adults and hot drinks for adults (please bring a travel mug if possible). We ask parents to bring their choice of drink for their child in a suitable beaker. After refuelling there is more free play time before we tidy up to finish with song and story. This usually involves a number of nursery rhymes plus a short Christian story from the Bible in video form or live retelling. All this finished by 11.30am and for just £1.50 per family (payable by card or cash on the door each week).

To join us you can just turn up as we have plenty of space for newcomers and if you have any questions please email Kevin at children@stjohnswimborne.org.uk.

Planning your Visit

Welcome from the VicarRevd. Peter Breckwoldt

Let me welcome you to St John’s! I am so delighted you have found our web site. We are a Church family in Wimborne for anyone living, working or studying around this area. Whoever you are, whatever your age, whether you’re an experienced Christian or not, we would love you to join us.

From an intrigued onlooker to the committed follower we are keen that everyone should grow in relationship with God through knowing Jesus. To help us do that our emphasis is on hearing God speak to us by his Holy Spirit through his word, the Bible. Each of us knows that we only grow in a relationship with someone and get to know them when we spend time listening to them and responding and reacting to what they say. So the focus of St John’s is on listening to God’s word, talking to him in prayer and taking up all that he says.

The Church family here at St John’s longs to help anyone who wants to investigate the life of Jesus. On this site you will find people, meetings, talks and events shaped to help you take another step forward in finding out more about God and his love for us in Jesus, and to help you get linked into the church family life.

I do hope I will have the opportunity to meet you personally in the very near future and that you will quickly feel at home at St John’s.

Revd. Peter Breckwoldt
