Jurassic Coastal Walk Update - 5th August 2026

Where we’ve been!
Walk 5 is in 2 parts on Friday 14th & Saturday 15th August – you can join us for either days!
We are walking on from Weymouth [North Quay] to Ringstead on Fri & Ringstead on to Lulworth on Sat. This area is stunning scenery all round. Level to start with and then some short sharp inclines, day 2 being the more demanding! How about joining us? It is around 7.5m & classified as ‘easy to strenuous’.
Transport & arrangements: Please contact me - Keith Loveless - to help make your travel arrangements as we will need a car / cars at both ends of the walk. Email kes.loveless@gmail.com
Hope to see some of you then!
Walk 3 was from Seatown to West Bexington on Fri 24 July, then on through Abbotsbury to Langton Herring on Sat 25 July. The view looking back was very satisfying! It was hot, and sometimes quite challenging in the heat & on the shingle of the amazing Chessil Beach.
Walk 4 was a 1 day mostly level walk from Langton Herring to Ferrybridge just west of Weymouth on Sat 1 August.

The Big Plan
100 Miles for Charity in biteable chunks over 4 months! Join a 100-mile charity walk along Dorset's stunning Jurassic coastline, open to Rotary clubs, churches, family, friends, and anyone wishing to participate at their own pace and ability.
Please click on the JustGiving LINK for full information and giving details.
This is a charity fundraising walk that is planned for local Rotary clubs, Dorset churches, family & friends, and others too, for, on an individual basis folk to join in at their own comfort & ability level. It may be that it is watching online from an armchair, or joining together at the start & finish to encourage those taking part, or joining us for one or part of one of the legs, or helping on the fundraising side.
The walks will be in sections, most on Fridays and or Saturdays, through June to October.
Anyone will be welcome to join me for a days walk. There is no formal organisation intended, so every walker will be independent & self-sufficient. I guess travel arrangements will be an important part of this and as things develop then there may be connections made.
Following the walks online is part of my plan.
Progress updates are available via a WhatsApp group. To receive updates just text your name & mobile number to me at 07768 197095. Alternatively, you can email me on kes.loveless@gmail.com
All monies raised by me will be gathered through the JustGiving page and our Rotary Club Charity account.
100% of the money donated in this way will go to the 3 charities:
• Hope For Food
• The CRUMBS Project
• Dorset Historic Churches Trust
I hope you will enjoy, whether in the comfort of your armchair, on a short part of one of the walks, a whole days walk, or to send the walkers off on the first day at Hengistbury or welcome us back at Hengistbury at the end of the last day!
I am inviting:
1. Rotary clubs along the trail to join in one way or another
2. Churches along the trail & through Dorset to join in
3. St Johns Church Wimborne
4. Family, friends & colleagues to join us.
The JustGiving page is linked to our Bournemouth East Cliff Rotary Charity account which will handle & distribute the payments. Our trustee & former NatWest International Banker will be helping manage that process.
I hope to see you on one of the beautiful walks.
