Jurassic Coastal Walk No.2 - Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th July

Friends,

The next walk is on Friday and / or Saturday this week, depending upon whether you might do 1 or both days walks, or just watch progress!

I attach all the information that you might need to follow this walk whether walking with us, in your arm chair on the WhatsApp link if you have joined the walk WhatsApp Community, or to support us as we raise money for our 3 charities.

Jurassic Coastal Walk No.2

We have so far raised, with Gift Aid, over £500 – well done to everyone & thank you!
Walk 2 is on Friday 3 July Seaton [E. Devon] to Lyme Regis and again on Saturday 4 July - Lyme Regis to Seatown, each days leg around 7 miles [and a few hills!].
Start time from Seaton is 11am, meeting on the B3172 at Axmouth Bridge, parking in the laybys on the east side of the bridge away from the town. It’s just under 60m from Wimborne so I am allowing 2 hours. My wife Pat & I are walking, and hopefully we can persuade a few to join us?! We are taking 2 cars down to park one at each end of the days walk to cover transport.
We have 6 available spaces in our cars heading out on the Friday from Wimborne at 8.30am and returning back on the Saturday. If you plan to do the 2 day walk then you will need to arrange your own accommodation in Lyme Regis. Apologies for the late notice!
If you plan to do a 1 day walk on either day, then you will need to arrange your own transport to suit. The offer of 6 spaces in one direction still applies – 6 going down on the Friday and 6 returning on the Saturday.
The WhatsApp Community is set up, and I am inviting folk who wish to join this to do so. If you haven’t yet joined, please send me your mobile tel number & I will send you an invite for you to open the link & catch up on progress, photos etc.

Planning your Visit

Welcome to St John's Church!

We are so delighted that you have found our website. We are a Church family in Wimborne for anyone living, working or studying around this area. Whoever you are, whatever your age, whether you’re an experienced Christian or not, we would love you to join us.

From an intrigued onlooker to the committed follower we are keen that everyone should grow in relationship with God through knowing Jesus. To help us do that our emphasis is on hearing God speak to us by his Holy Spirit through his word, the Bible. Each of us knows that we only grow in a relationship with someone and get to know them when we spend time listening to them and responding and reacting to what they say. So the focus of St John’s is on listening to God’s word, talking to him in prayer and taking up all that he says.

The Church family here at St John’s longs to help anyone who wants to investigate the life of Jesus. On this site you will find people, meetings, talks and events shaped to help you take another step forward in finding out more about God and his love for us in Jesus, and to help you get linked into the church family life.

We hope to have the opportunity to meet you personally in the very near future and that you will quickly feel at home at St John’s.

Stuart Hull and Nigel Day (Churchwardens)
Please note that we are currently seeking a new Vicar, following the retirement of Revd Peter Breckwoldt in July 2025
