100 Miles for Charity in biteable chunks over 4 months! Join a 100-mile charity walk along Dorset's stunning coastline, open to Rotary clubs, churches, family, friends, and anyone wishing to participate at their own pace and ability.

Jurassic Coastal Walk: Experience 100 miles of the beautiful Dorset coastline

This is a charity fundraising walk that is planned for local Rotary clubs, Dorset churches, family & friends, and others too, for, on an individual basis folk to join in at their own comfort & ability level. It may be that it is watching online from an armchair, or joining together at the start & finish to encourage those taking part, or joining me for one or part of one of the legs, or helping on the fundraising side.

The walks will be in sections, on Fridays and Saturdays, through June to October.

Anyone will be welcome to join me for a days walk. There is no formal organisation intended, so every walker will be independent & self-sufficient. I guess travel arrangements will be an important part of this and as things develop then there may be connections made.

Following the walks online is part of my plan.

All monies raised by me will be gathered through the JustGiving page and our Rotary Club Charity account.

100% of the money donated in this way will go to the 3 charities:

• Hope For Food

• The CRUMBS Project

• Dorset Historic Churches Trust

I hope you will enjoy, whether in the comfort of your armchair, on a short part of one of the walks, a whole days walk, or to send the walkers off on the first day at Hengistbury or welcome us back at Hengistbury at the end of the last day!

The JustGiving page is linked to our Bournemouth East Cliff Rotary Charity account which will handle & distribute the payments. Our trustee & former NatWest International Banker will be helping manage that process.

Walk 1 is an introductory start: We will begin walking at 10am from St Nicholas Church Hengistbury Head 137 Broadway, Bournemouth, BH6 4EP and finish at The Haven Sandbanks. The walk is on Saturday 6th June.

Welcome to St John's Church!

We are so delighted that you have found our website. We are a Church family in Wimborne for anyone living, working or studying around this area. Whoever you are, whatever your age, whether you’re an experienced Christian or not, we would love you to join us.

From an intrigued onlooker to the committed follower we are keen that everyone should grow in relationship with God through knowing Jesus. To help us do that our emphasis is on hearing God speak to us by his Holy Spirit through his word, the Bible. Each of us knows that we only grow in a relationship with someone and get to know them when we spend time listening to them and responding and reacting to what they say. So the focus of St John’s is on listening to God’s word, talking to him in prayer and taking up all that he says.

The Church family here at St John’s longs to help anyone who wants to investigate the life of Jesus. On this site you will find people, meetings, talks and events shaped to help you take another step forward in finding out more about God and his love for us in Jesus, and to help you get linked into the church family life.

We hope to have the opportunity to meet you personally in the very near future and that you will quickly feel at home at St John’s.
