StreetLight Ministry - Thank you to our supporters

God’s Blessing and Growth at StreetLight
This year has been a period of significant transformation at StreetLight. We have witnessed God’s abundant blessing upon our work in many ways. Notably, our team has expanded to include new staff members, trustees, and volunteers, each bringing fresh energy and commitment to our mission. We are truly delighted by the ways in which God has been guiding and blessing the new facets of our ministry.
The Café: A Vibrant Hub
Our café is a lively and welcoming space, with many visitors remarking on its wonderful atmosphere. It is heartening to observe several young people growing in confidence and experiencing the love of God through their interactions here. We are witnessing lives being transformed, with individuals coming to faith and embracing new hope.
Bible Storytelling Sessions for Mums and Tots
Since launching in September, our Bible Storytelling sessions for mums and tots have flourished. Every session has been fully attended, with parents and carers signing up to attend every week. The programme has become a vibrant centre of creativity and engagement for families in our community.
Youth Club: Encouraging Questions and Faith
The weekly youth club has seen remarkable growth, attracting many young people who are earnestly seeking answers to their questions about God and faith. In response to this, we are planning to commence a Thursday Youth Bible Study, which will offer an excellent opportunity for these young people to explore their faith more deeply and discover what it truly means to follow Jesus in their everyday lives.
Financial Stability and Future Development
We are grateful to God for the improvement in our finances, which now provide a secure foundation for further developing our ministry.  Building on this financial stability is vital and gives us the confidence to expand our outreach and impact.
Thankfulness and Appreciation
We can clearly see that God is at work among us, and we give thanks for all that He has done and continues to do. We also recognise that none of this progress would be possible without your generous financial support and the prayers of many.  We are deeply indebted to all of you who have committed yourselves to supporting this ministry, and we are immensely grateful for your ongoing partnership.
May God bless you always.

With sincere thanks,

Eddie Curry and the staff and trustees at StreetLight

Planning your Visit

Welcome to St John's Church!

We are so delighted that you have found our website. We are a Church family in Wimborne for anyone living, working or studying around this area. Whoever you are, whatever your age, whether you’re an experienced Christian or not, we would love you to join us.

From an intrigued onlooker to the committed follower we are keen that everyone should grow in relationship with God through knowing Jesus. To help us do that our emphasis is on hearing God speak to us by his Holy Spirit through his word, the Bible. Each of us knows that we only grow in a relationship with someone and get to know them when we spend time listening to them and responding and reacting to what they say. So the focus of St John’s is on listening to God’s word, talking to him in prayer and taking up all that he says.

The Church family here at St John’s longs to help anyone who wants to investigate the life of Jesus. On this site you will find people, meetings, talks and events shaped to help you take another step forward in finding out more about God and his love for us in Jesus, and to help you get linked into the church family life.

We hope to have the opportunity to meet you personally in the very near future and that you will quickly feel at home at St John’s.

Please note that we are currently seeking a new Vicar, following the retirement of Revd Peter Breckwoldt in July 2025
