John 11:8-16 (February 25th)
Read John 11:8-16.
We often don't know what to do, but how does Jesus show divine purpose?
We see a reflection of ourselves in the disciples - they are scared (v8), confused (v12-13) and resigned (v16). In contrast, Jesus is walking in the light of his Father’s will (v9-10) and seems to know exactly what to do when. Heading back to Judea will indeed lead to Jesus’ death, but he is confident that he will achieve all that the Father has planned for him. When we follow Jesus and seek to do God’s will day by day, we also walk in the light. We can have confidence that God will work through us all he has planned.

Think: what do the disciples think needs to happen?
What is Jesus going to do?
Pray: thank Jesus that he came to give us new life, not just make us better.
Do: play doctors (one person pretends to be ill, and the others have to try and find out what is wrong and then work out how to make them better)
