John 7:1-13 (February 5th)
Read John 7:1-13.
Why does Jesus not show himself to the world?
As we have seen, the more miracles Jesus does, the more he faces opposition (v1). People don't need more evidence to convince their minds, but they need new hearts. The desire for Jesus to be more public comes from unbelief (v5). The time will come (v6, v8) for Jesus to publicly face the Jewish leaders and display God's glory in Jerusalem - but this will be when he is lifted up on the cross. "Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified" (1 Corinthians 1:23-24).

Read: John 7:3-5
Think: Why do Jesus’ brothers want him to go to Jerusalem?
Do you ever wish that God would do more miracles?
In the end Jesus does go through on Jerusalem to show his glory.
Pray: that we would trust Jesus to show himself in his way
Do: something stealthy (eg. Try to sneak up and hide behind someone, and then say ‘hello!’)
