StreetLight Prayer Update - November

“Supporting people, sharing Jesus, changing lives”

👋 Hello Friends, Supporters & Prayer Warriors
As we step into this new season, we’re reminded of the story in John 6, where Jesus took five loaves and two fish, gave thanks, and multiplied them to feed thousands.
That picture feels so fitting for us right now at StreetLight — God taking our small offerings of time, energy, and resources, and multiplying them far beyond what we could ever do ourselves. In this season of overflow, we’re seeing His provision, presence, and power in every corner of the ministry.

🏗️ Foundations and Overflow – What God Is Doing
God continues to strengthen the foundations He’s been building here — and now, we’re seeing overflow.
Financially, we’re finally experiencing some breathing room — praise God! But with that blessing has come a fresh wave of opportunities and activity. Please pray that we’d have wisdom to prioritise well, and that we’d find rest to stay focused on the mission God’s called us to.
At our recent trustees’ meeting, we were so encouraged by how much is happening — and how clearly we can see God’s hand at work. Thank you for standing with us in prayer, generosity, and faith.

🙌 New Faces, New Season
We’re delighted to welcome Steven and David onto our trustees’ team! Both bring experience, energy, and a deep heart for mission. Their arrival has brought fresh vision and encouragement to the whole team as we continue to grow into this new chapter together.

📖 Bible Storytelling Project – Overflowing!
Our Children’s Bible Storytelling Project has continued to flourish since its September launch. Every session has been packed, full of creativity, fun, and curiosity about the Bible.
There’s now so much interest that we’re seriously considering extending it to two days a week! What an incredible sign of hunger for God’s Word among local families. Please pray for energy, wisdom, and continued gospel impact as this ministry expands.

🎉 Light Party – Shining Bright!
Our recent Light Party was a huge encouragement — full of joy, worship, laughter, and light. It reminded us again that the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it.
Keep an eye on our socials — a highlight video will be posted soon!

🛹 Half-Term Highlights – Overflow Everywhere!
Half-term was simply amazing. The café was bustling from open to close, and the skatepark was so busy our accountant had to double-check the figures because she couldn’t believe how many people came through the doors!
It was one of our busiest and most joy-filled weeks ever — a clear sign of how God is using this space to draw people in and create opportunities for genuine connection and witness.

🔥 Youth Ministry – Growing in Depth and Number
Our Wednesday Youth Club continues to grow week by week — full of energy, friendship, and real conversations about life and faith.
And we’re excited to announce that the Thursday Youth Bible Study will be starting soon! This will give our young people a space to explore faith more deeply and discover what it means to follow Jesus in their everyday lives.
Please pray that both evenings would complement each other beautifully — that fun would lead to faith, and faith would lead to transformation.

💛 Soul Group – Young Adults Growing in Faith
Our Soul Group for young adults has grown to around 30 members, and we’re seeing something remarkable — when we first started, only a few were Christians (mostly the leaders). Now, around 55% of the group are following Jesus!
It’s been amazing to watch faith take root and community deepen among this group of young adults who gather each week to worship, learn, and encourage one another.

🌊 Riverside Church Plant – Building Links in Blandford
We’re so encouraged by the growth of Riverside Church in Blandford, led by our trustee Steven. As this new church plant takes shape, it’s creating a wonderful link for young people and families who come through StreetLight and live in the Blandford area.
If you or someone you know lives in Blandford and is looking for a church, Riverside is a fantastic and welcoming place to get connected.

🎄 Christmas on the Horizon
Believe it or not, Christmas planning is already underway — and some of our events are already fully booked!
Please pray for creativity, strength, and Spirit-filled impact as we prepare to welcome many new faces through our doors this festive season.

🤝 Thank You & Spread the Word
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who gives regularly — whether it’s £5 or £50, your generosity makes everything we do possible. Every coffee served, every conversation shared, every young person who hears about Jesus  you’re part of it.
We’d also love your help in spreading the word. Every time you tell someone about StreetLight, share a post, or invite a friend, you’re helping this ministry grow.
If you know someone who might want to support StreetLight  financially or through volunteering or just prayer please encourage them to get involved. Together, we’re building something that’s changing lives and transforming our community.

🙏 Join Us in Prayer – Monthly on the first Friday at 3:30pm
We gather to pray on the first Friday each month at 3:30pm in StreetLight, and we’d love for you to join us if you can.
Let’s take time to thank God, seek His direction, and pray for all that’s ahead.

💛 A Final Word – The God of More Than Enough
We are witnessing a season of multiplication — not just in numbers, but in hearts. From packed cafés and skateparks to growing Bible groups and church plants, God is doing what only He can: turning small beginnings into abundant harvest.
Thank you for praying, giving, sharing, and believing with us. Together, we’re seeing lives changed, faith awakened, and light breaking into dark places.
Let’s keep trusting, building, and expecting great things from our God — who is always more than enough.

With love and gratitude,

Planning your Visit

Welcome to St John's Church!

We are so delighted that you have found our website. We are a Church family in Wimborne for anyone living, working or studying around this area. Whoever you are, whatever your age, whether you’re an experienced Christian or not, we would love you to join us.

From an intrigued onlooker to the committed follower we are keen that everyone should grow in relationship with God through knowing Jesus. To help us do that our emphasis is on hearing God speak to us by his Holy Spirit through his word, the Bible. Each of us knows that we only grow in a relationship with someone and get to know them when we spend time listening to them and responding and reacting to what they say. So the focus of St John’s is on listening to God’s word, talking to him in prayer and taking up all that he says.

The Church family here at St John’s longs to help anyone who wants to investigate the life of Jesus. On this site you will find people, meetings, talks and events shaped to help you take another step forward in finding out more about God and his love for us in Jesus, and to help you get linked into the church family life.

We hope to have the opportunity to meet you personally in the very near future and that you will quickly feel at home at St John’s.

Stuart Hull and Nigel Day (Churchwardens)
Please note that we are currently seeking a new Vicar, following the retirement of Revd Peter Breckwoldt in July 2025
