Coffee in the Conservatory

coffee and cakeCoffee in the Conservatory runs on Friday mornings from 10-12 in the Conservatory. (Closed 1 August for Kids Venture and 29 August-19 Sept inclusive for volunteers' holidays).
It is intended as both a gathering place for church family and friends, and as an outreach to the local community. We have an average of 35 customers each week, many of whom come alone and meet friends both old and new. We offer cafetière coffee and homemade cakes and scones. Donations are invited and our profits contribute not only to church funds but also charities in the local community, particularly the Food Bank.

If you would like to consider joining our team to undertake a duty on a ‘1 week in 4’ basis - or as an occasional helper - you would be very welcome to join our friendly team. We need bakers, members for the welcome/waiting team, and members for the kitchen team.  We would love to chat to you - just contact Chris Field, Fiona Derrick or Mary Morris - or see below.

Alternatively, anyone interested in knowing a bit more is invited to our ‘drinks and canapés’ event in the Conservatory on 28 August from 6-8pm.  There will be food, drinks and music and you will see what fun we have working together as a team. If ytou would like to come, please RSVP to marycalling[@]icloud.com (remove the brackets) by 21 August.

Stop Press: World’s Greatest Coffee Morning event on Friday 26 Sept in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care.

Planning your Visit

Welcome from the VicarRevd. Peter Breckwoldt

Let me welcome you to St John’s! I am so delighted you have found our web site. We are a Church family in Wimborne for anyone living, working or studying around this area. Whoever you are, whatever your age, whether you’re an experienced Christian or not, we would love you to join us.

From an intrigued onlooker to the committed follower we are keen that everyone should grow in relationship with God through knowing Jesus. To help us do that our emphasis is on hearing God speak to us by his Holy Spirit through his word, the Bible. Each of us knows that we only grow in a relationship with someone and get to know them when we spend time listening to them and responding and reacting to what they say. So the focus of St John’s is on listening to God’s word, talking to him in prayer and taking up all that he says.

The Church family here at St John’s longs to help anyone who wants to investigate the life of Jesus. On this site you will find people, meetings, talks and events shaped to help you take another step forward in finding out more about God and his love for us in Jesus, and to help you get linked into the church family life.

I do hope I will have the opportunity to meet you personally in the very near future and that you will quickly feel at home at St John’s.

Revd. Peter Breckwoldt
