StreetLight

For those who have not heard of us here at StreetLight, we are a Christian charity, a community project that runs a skate park, cafe and soft play centre in Wimborne. We took on the massive warehouse in 2013 and have had an incredible journey so far.
The last year has been an interesting time for StreetLight as we have seen our impact in the community getting bigger and bigger. We have become a destination for soft play and seen a larger attendance of families with small children. This has given us some amazing opportunities for supporting and building relationships with those families.
The skate park continues to be a great place for young people to hang out and build confidence. We have a team of skaters, with 12 young people who regularly attend, learning how to run the park. We have seen them as a part of team nights and we are building a stronger relationship with them, supporting and getting along side them. We have run 3 team trips this year visiting other skate parks where the team enjoy a different skate park and community and eating together.
Our skater's bible study has seen a great year, with a good consistent and great number of young people coming and exploring faith and praying together, also enjoying free pizza!
This summer we were also able to offer skating for £1 which means many locals were able to enjoy being at StreetLight for a very affordable time out. This also means people will not find the constraints of money as an issue. Also with our free soft play, we were busy all summer with families and holiday makers which opened up new opportunities for conversations and building relationships.

This last year has been the most exciting to see where God is taking StreetLight. We want to thank you all for your continued support in prayer and financial giving. This has meant we are able to continue to do what we do. As we look forward we are going to be celebrating 10 years of outreach and mission at StreetLight and we are so excited to be inviting past riders, young people and families back who have been supported and blessed by the ministry of StreetLight. Want to get involved? There are many needs, and a variety of ways in which you can help our project. StreetLight is looking to increase both its team of volunteers and the number of regular monthly supporters. Planning your Visit

Welcome from the VicarRevd. Peter Breckwoldt

Let me welcome you to St John’s! I am so delighted you have found our web site. We are a Church family in Wimborne for anyone living, working or studying around this area. Whoever you are, whatever your age, whether you’re an experienced Christian or not, we would love you to join us.

From an intrigued onlooker to the committed follower we are keen that everyone should grow in relationship with God through knowing Jesus. To help us do that our emphasis is on hearing God speak to us by his Holy Spirit through his word, the Bible. Each of us knows that we only grow in a relationship with someone and get to know them when we spend time listening to them and responding and reacting to what they say. So the focus of St John’s is on listening to God’s word, talking to him in prayer and taking up all that he says.

The Church family here at St John’s longs to help anyone who wants to investigate the life of Jesus. On this site you will find people, meetings, talks and events shaped to help you take another step forward in finding out more about God and his love for us in Jesus, and to help you get linked into the church family life.

I do hope I will have the opportunity to meet you personally in the very near future and that you will quickly feel at home at St John’s.

Revd. Peter Breckwoldt
