When we lose a loved one, it is traditional, as well as immensely comforting, for family and friends to come together to both grieve and give thanks for that person’s life. This may be a small, quiet time of reflection, or a large, lively gathering.
St John’s is available for funeral services, and our vicar is also able to take services of cremation and/or burial. We have a church centre which can be hired for use after a funeral service.
There are many advantages in having a funeral service in a church like St John’s:
Following a church service, a committal can take place at either a cemetery or crematorium. Some people choose to have the funeral service at the cemetery or crematorium, followed by a Service of Thanksgiving at St John’s.
Funerals are normally arranged with the church via your funeral director, but please do contact the Church Office if you have any queries. We are also able to offer pastoral care with a member of our experienced Pastoral Team, to give you help and support before and following the funeral.
